Tackling bullying - Ten Years On: new issues and practice perspectives
4th October 2012, Hallam Centre, London.
The Anti-Bullying Alliance invites you to join us as we celebrate 10 years of working together to tackle bullying behaviour between children and young people.
We have organised a fantastic day to help professionals learn from key academics and practitioners in the field, take part in interactive training workshops and participate in lively debate.
Our packed agenda will be chaired by Maggie Atkinson, Children's Commissioner for England. The day will start with leading experts sharing cutting edge research and practice in relation to bullying.
Key speakers include:
· Colleen McLaughlin (University of Cambridge) and Philippa Stobbs (CDC) on research into the bullying of children with special educational needs and disabilities,
· Dr Maria Ttofi (University of Cambridge) on bullying and the links to offending behaviour
· Vic Goddard (Principal of Passmores Academy) - featured in the tv
show 'Educating Essex'.
Afternoon cyberbullying debate features Dr Sonia Livingstone, Dr Peter Smith, Dr Katherine Rake (Family and Parenting Institute) and Nick Pickles (Big Brother Watch).
Training workshops for enhancing professional practice include: cyberbullying, racist bullying, creating environments that value difference, restorative approaches to tackling bullying, the Red Balloon recovery programme and cyber-homophobia.
